5-3-2-1-Almost None: Tips to keep kids healthy and active
To prevent obesity, it is critical that children eat a nutritional diet and engage in exercise that will promote a healthy lifestyle. We recommend that parents follow this simple guide to keep their children healthy and active:
5 – 5 or more servings of veggies and fruits daily
3 – 3 balanced meals each day. Limit fast food and eat more prepared meals at home.
2 – 2 hours or less of television and video games each day
1 – 1 hour or more of exercise each day
Almost None – Limit your child’s consumption of sweetened beverages
