Physicals and Well-Child Checks

Well-Child Check-Ups

s-pediatric.jpgWell-child check-ups help us establish a relationship with you and your child, so that we can best serve them as they grow. Your baby’s first exam will occur immediately following birth. Thereafter, we will schedule check-ups every few months. During the visit, the pediatrician will perform a thorough physical exam and check to ensure your child is meeting the normal developmental milestones. Children with specific medical conditions, such as diabetes or asthma, or other chronic illnesses, may need to be seen more frequently. Well-child exams are also a good opportunity for you to ask the pediatrician any questions you have.

In addition to well-child check-ups, we offer physicals for sports, school and camp. A physical can identify existing or potential health problems that may interfere with your child’s participation in a sport or other activity. The doctor will discuss your child’s medical history and perform a thorough physical exam. Although your child’s physical may not reveal any health problems, it’s still wise to monitor their health. If you notice any changes, contact our office for an appointment.
